Hartnell Community College District is proud of the Hayward Engineering and Architectural
In April 2014, they participated in the Mock Architecture Firm Competition - International and
Research Team (HEART), champions of the 2014 International Firm of the Year Award!  
National Skyscraper Challenge in Chicago.  This is the first time in the competition’s
six-year history that a community college takes the win.
Hartnell students Luis Lopez, Steven Mendenhall, Jaida Johnson, and Anthony Miranda,
impressed the judges with their design and professionalism.
Team makes history.

On Sunday, December 8, 2013, Hartnell’s Men Soccer team made history by becoming this year’s
Mt. San Antonio College 1-0. The entire Hartnell team is comprised of young men from our local
California Community College Athletics Association’s (CCCAA) State Champions, after beating
communities; their accomplishment creates a sense of tremendous pride for Hartnell College,
their families, and their communities.  In the Nation, the team took the second place.

the past 80 years.  In 2013, the Athletics Hall of Fame was established with 13 inductees.
